We want you to be happy with your KNOT Lab purchase. This policy explains your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal and our additional voluntary 20-day return policy.
These are two separate rights with different conditions. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected by our voluntary return policy.
1. Statutory Right of Withdrawal – 14 Days
If you are a consumer and your purchase is subject to the statutory right of withdrawal, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period generally begins on the day on which you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, receive the goods.
To exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your clear decision to withdraw from the contract.

You may use the model withdrawal form provided below, but you are not required to use a specific form. A clear statement informing us of your decision to withdraw is sufficient.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your withdrawal notice before the 14-day withdrawal period has expired.
2. Returning an Item Under the Statutory Right of Withdrawal
After exercising your statutory right of withdrawal, you must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after informing us of your decision to withdraw.
The deadline is met if you send the goods before the 14-day period has expired.

3. Condition of the Goods During the Statutory Withdrawal Period
During the statutory 14-day withdrawal period, you may examine and handle the goods to the extent necessary to determine their nature, characteristics and functionality, similar to how you would be able to examine the product in a physical store.
You are therefore not required to return the item unused or unworn in order to exercise your statutory right of withdrawal.
However, you may be liable for a loss in value if the decrease in value results from handling that was not necessary to examine the nature, characteristics and functionality of the goods, provided that the legal requirements for such liability are met.
We therefore recommend handling the product carefully during the withdrawal period and returning it in its original condition wherever possible.
4. Return Shipping Costs – Statutory Withdrawal
If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to us.
We do not provide free return shipping unless we expressly state otherwise.
This applies provided that we have informed you of this obligation before the conclusion of the contract, as required by applicable law.
We recommend using a tracked shipping service and keeping your proof of postage until your return has been processed.
The risk of the return shipment is borne by KNOT Lab in accordance with applicable law.
5. Refunds Under the Statutory Right of Withdrawal
If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, we will refund the payments we have received from you in accordance with applicable law.
This includes the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered by us.
If you selected a more expensive delivery method, such as express shipping, we are not required to refund the additional cost resulting from that more expensive delivery method.
The refund will generally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless another method has been expressly agreed and this does not result in additional costs for you.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence that you have sent the goods back, whichever occurs earlier.
The statutory refund period is no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive your withdrawal notice, subject to the statutory right to withhold the refund described above.
6. Our Voluntary 20-Day Return Policy
In addition to your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, KNOT Lab offers an additional voluntary return period of up to 20 days from the date you receive your order.
This is a voluntary service provided by KNOT Lab and is separate from and in addition to your statutory right of withdrawal.
The periods work as follows:
Days 1–14:
Your statutory right of withdrawal applies.
You may return the product without giving a reason, subject to the statutory rules described above.
Days 15–20:
Our voluntary KNOT Lab return policy applies.
During these additional 6 days, you may return an eligible product only if the conditions of our voluntary return policy are met.
After day 20:
Our voluntary return period has expired and we generally cannot accept returns unless a statutory right or other legal entitlement applies.
7. Conditions for the Voluntary Return – Days 15–20
For a return requested between day 15 and day 20, the product must:
- be completely unused;
- be unworn;
- be in its original condition;
- have all original tags and labels attached;
- be returned with its original packaging where applicable;
- show no signs of use, washing, alteration or damage; and
- be accompanied by your order number or another valid proof of purchase.
Because this is a voluntary return policy, KNOT Lab may refuse a return requested between days 15 and 20 if these conditions are not met.
These conditions apply only to our voluntary return policy and do not restrict or replace your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.
8. Return Shipping Costs – Voluntary 20-Day Return
For returns made under our voluntary return policy between days 15 and 20, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to us.
KNOT Lab does not provide free return shipping for voluntary returns unless expressly agreed otherwise.
The original shipping cost is also not refunded for voluntary returns made after the statutory 14-day withdrawal period has expired.
9. How to Request a Voluntary Return
To request a voluntary return between days 15 and 20, please contact us at:

- your full name;
- your order number;
- the product you wish to return; and
- any other information we may reasonably need to identify your order.
You do not need to provide a reason for the voluntary return.
Please do not send a voluntary return before contacting us. We will provide you with the applicable return instructions.

10. Refunds Under the Voluntary 20-Day Return Policy
Once we have received and inspected the returned product, we will confirm whether the voluntary return has been accepted.
If the return meets all conditions of our voluntary return policy, we will refund the purchase price of the returned product.
The original shipping costs are not refunded for voluntary returns made between days 15 and 20.
The refund will generally be processed within 10 business days after the return has been received and approved.
Depending on your bank or payment provider, additional time may be required before the refund appears in your account.
11. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, defective or contains the wrong item, please contact us as soon as possible at:
Please include your order number and, where possible, photographs showing the issue.
Damaged, defective or incorrect products are not treated as ordinary returns.
Your statutory rights in relation to defective or non-conforming goods remain unaffected by this return policy.
If a product has a defect or does not conform to the contract, applicable statutory warranty rights apply.
12. Exchanges
We currently do not offer direct exchanges.
If you would like a different product or colour, you can return the original product under the applicable return policy and place a new order separately.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
13. Exceptions to the Statutory Right of Withdrawal
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply where a statutory exception applies.
For KNOT Lab, this may include products that are:
- made according to your individual specifications; or
- clearly personalized for you.
Such an exception applies only where the legal requirements are actually met.
A standard KNOT Lab product is not automatically excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal simply because it is handmade.
